I was recently prescribed Penicillamine 250mg Capsules to manage my Wilson's Disease. The medication is supposed to help with the excess copper in my body, but I've been told it comes with a lot of potential side effects. I'm trying to stay positive, but I have to admit, the list of serious side effects is a bit scary. Anyone else on this medication? I'd love to hear your experiences and any tips you might have for managing the side effects. Regular blood and urine tests are a must, and I've already scheduled my first round. Hopefully, it'll all go smoothly.

I've been on Penicillamine for my rheumatoid arthritis for a year now. The side effects were rough at the start - skin rashes, stomach issues, and even some muscle weakness, but my doctor helped manage them. I keep a symptom diary and share it with my doctor during my monthly check-ups. This way, we can adjust my dosage or treatment plan as needed. Regular communication with your healthcare provider is key.

Has anyone else had issues with changes in taste? I can't stand anything sweet anymore, and it's awful. I miss my morning coffee with sugar so much.

I've been on Penicillamine for a couple of years for Wilson's disease and I've only had some minor digestive issues. I've found that taking it with a full meal helps a lot with the nausea and stomach upset. It's not perfect, but it's manageable. Just remember, everyone's experience is different. If you have any concerns, talk to your doctor.

This medication saved my life, literally. I was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis and my joints were a mess. The side effects were awful at first - mouth sores, stomach issues, the works. But after a few months, my symptoms improved dramatically, and now I only have the occasional flare-up. If it works for you, stick with it, but yes, regular check-ins with your doctor are key! Take it easy during the initial phase, your body will need time to adjust.

I switched to Penicillamine for my cystinuria after my other medication stopped working. It's been a game-changer, but the kidney stone symptoms were scary. I ended up in the ER with a kidney stone, but it passed and I was back to normal. My doctor said it was a normal side effect and to expect more kidney stones during my treatment. Not a fun time, but hopefully it won't happen again. And if you do experience any of these symptoms, get to the ER ASAP.

I know this is hard, but stay positive! I swear this medication was like a miracle drug for me. After the initial side effects, I felt like a new person. Just remember to stay in touch with your doctor and listen to your body. It’s a journey, but it’s worth it. Know your body and trust your doctor; they're the experts.

I had a really bad time with nausea and vomiting at first. My doctor recommended taking it with food, which helped a lot. Also, make sure to stay hydrated! Penicillamine can be tough on your system, but it's worth it if it helps with your condition.

I've been on Penicillamine for a while now, and while it's been effective for my condition, I have to say the side effects are no joke. I got a rash at first, but my doctor adjusted the dosage, and it cleared up. Just make sure to communicate with your doctor about any issues you're having. If in doubt, call them! Regular check-ups are crucial.

I didn't know about the mouth sores—I think I got one, but it was the only thing that was bothering me, so I assumed it was a normal thing. They clear up soon after you stop taking it.
