Sharing my experience with Prempro 0.625mg/5mg Tabs 28 (blue) for menopause symptoms, and a question about side effects
I started taking Prempro 0.625mg/5mg Tabs 28 (blue) a few months ago to manage my menopause symptoms, specifically hot flashes and night sweats. I was pretty hesitant at first because of the side effects I had heard about, but my doctor assured me that it's generally well-tolerated. So far, it's been a game-changer for me, as the hot flashes have significantly reduced, and I'm sleeping much better. I've gained a bit of weight, which I blame on fluid retention, but my doctor said that's common. After reading the extensive side effects, I want to know if anyone else has experienced anything unexpected, or has any tips for managing the side effects. I've heard that some people cut the pills in half, but is that safe to do?

I've had some mood swings, but my doctor said that could be due to the hormones, or it could be the menopause talking. So many things are a mystery. I'm not even sure what's causing it, but it's frustrating!
I've read that there is an increased risk of blood clots with this medication. Has anyone here experienced anything like that? It's scary to think about, and I wonder if it's worth the risk?
This medication saved my life. I mean, it's not perfect, but the benefit of feeling like a person again outweighs any of the side effects I've had. I had some spotting at first, which was annoying, but my doctor said that's normal. Also, I take a magnesium supplement and it helps with the bloating. I just can't be without it.
I cut my pills in half and it worked for me. The half dosage feels more manageable and I have less side effects. I do not recommend doing it without consulting your doctor, go with a blood test and be in touch with your doctor, since everyone's experience is different. My doc didn't mind, but doctors have different opinions.
I was on Prempro and switched to bioidentical hormones. The side effects were unbearable for me, but I know everyone is different. Worth a shot if you're struggling with menopause.
I can't believe how many side effects there are listed for this medication. It's kind of terrifying. I've been considering HRT, but now I'm second-guessing it. Has anyone experienced anything truly horrible?
I'm starting Prempro next week. Fingers crossed that I don't have too many side effects. Is it normal to start feeling better within a few days, or does it take weeks to notice a difference?
My mom was on Prempro and she had some pretty bad side effects. She had this really intense stomach pain and ended up in the ER. Turns out she had pancreatitis. I don't want to scare anyone, but just be aware and listen to your body.
I'm a bit wary of the increased cancer risk. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Is it worth the risk for the relief it brings? I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I've been on Prempro for a couple of years now, and honestly, it's been a lifesaver. The hot flashes were unbearable, and this has really helped. I did experience some bloating and breast tenderness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. As for the weight gain, I've found that a low-sodium diet helped a lot with that. So I'd give it a shot and see how it goes, because it's definitely worth it for the relief it brings.
