I've been on Radicava for almost a year now and I wanted to share my experience. It's been a challenging journey, but I've noticed some slowdown in the progression of my ALS symptoms. The IV treatments are a bit of a hassle, but the potential benefits make it worth it for me. I've had a couple of side effects, mostly headaches and some skin irritation, nothing too severe, but it's important to stay vigilant. Has anyone else had experience with Radicava? Would love to hear about your journey and any tips you might have for managing side effects.

I had some skin irritation at first, but it went away after a few weeks. Just make sure to keep an eye on it and keep your doctor in the loop. There was one guy in my support group who had hives and the doctors thought it was Radicava, but it turned out to be an allergy to the tape they used on the IV site! Always good to double-check with your doctor.

I've been on Radicava for about 6 months and while it hasn't stopped the progression, it has slowed it down significantly. I've had some dizziness and bruising, but my doctor assured me it's manageable. Just make sure to report any severe side effects immediately. For me, Radicava's potential to extend my quality of life outweighs the side effects.

I'm surprised the side effects aren’t more common. I've never had any issues.

Just started Radicava and I'm already feeling a bit wonky. Anyone else experience dizziness right away? I've never fainted in my life—it's weird.

I've heard great things about Radicava, but the side effects concern me. Especially the life-threatening ones. Has anyone experienced anything severe?

Anyone else notice that the IV site can get sore? I put a heating pad on it and it helps a lot.

Radicava is a game-changer. I've seen friends there struggling with the side effects, but when you weigh the benefits, it’s worth it. I would suggest talking to your doctor about any concerns you have beforehand.

Can someone explain how the IV works? I’m really nervous about starting this treatment.

The IV treatment is pretty straightforward. You go to a clinic or sometimes they come to your home, and they administer the drug over a period of time. It's usually done once a week for 14 days. The rest period varies. I always schedule it so I get my treatment on the same day of the week. For me, it's Tuesdays. I've even started a book club with some of the people I meet there—we all trade books and the time passes way faster now.

I've been on Radicava for a while and I worried a lot when I started having headaches. I was so relieved to find out it was just a side effect and not a progression of the ALS. It's a scary journey, but the support community is amazing. Hang in there, everyone.
