I've been using Silvadene 1% Cream for a severe burn injury and have seen some interesting results. While it seems to be helping with the infection, I'm noticing some skin changes that make me a bit worried. Has anyone else experienced side effects? If so, how did you manage them? Are there any particular side effects I should be aware of and report to my doctor? Any advice on managing these side effects would be greatly appreciated.

I'm surprised to see a lot of people mentioning skin irritation. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and haven't had any issues. Maybe my skin just reacts differently? Has anyone switched to other silver-based creams? How do they compare?

I got the same burn problems. My doc gave me a list of side effects to watch for and they really helped. Just make sure to check it every few days for any signs of liver problems or changes in urine output.

I had a similar experience with Silvadene. The skin irritation was pretty bad, but my doctor recommended putting a thin layer of a gentle moisturizer on top to help soothe it. Just make sure to apply the Silvadene first and give it a few minutes to dry.

If you're experiencing changes in skin color, don't panic. It might just be a reaction to the silver in the cream. But definitely consult your doctor to be sure it's nothing serious.
