I received a Sincalide injection earlier this week as part of a test to check my gallbladder function. The medication was given to help simulate the body's response to food ingestion, aiding in the visualization of the gallbladder and pancreas activities via special tests. Since I've received the injection, I've been experiencing some side effects. I made sure I knew the immediate warning signs, as this medication can cause severe and potentially life-threatening side effects, including allergic reactions, changes in blood pressure, and seizures. Additionally, there are more common but less serious side effects, like stomach pain, diarrhea, and dizziness, which can also be troublesome. Has anyone else had this injection? What was your experience like with the side effects?

My experience with Sincalide was pretty standard. I didn't face any serious issues, but I did get a bit of flushing and sneezing. It was manageable, but definitely worth mentioning. As always, if you feel uncomfortable, talk to your doctor.

I had no idea this was a thing. I've been having stomach pain a lot lately and now I'm wondering if the diagnosis is related to this test.

I had no idea this medication could cause such severe symptoms. I'll definitely keep an eye out for any signs of an allergic reaction. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Sincalide is a powerful diagnostic tool but comes with a risk of side effects. I remember reading the list of possible side effects and it was quite extensive. My advice? Make sure you're fully informed before going through with the test, and have someone with you just in case.

I got this injection, and it was a nightmare. I almost had to go to the ER for the side effects. Definitely not something I wish for anyone. Was it worth it? I guess so, but it was rough.
