I've been dealing with cold sores for years, and I finally decided to try Sitavig 50mg Buccal Tablets. This antiviral treatment is supposed to stop the cold sore virus in its tracks by releasing acyclovir directly into the area of the outbreak. I've only needed to use one tablet so far, which is a big change from the ointments and creams I've used in the past. I'm curious to hear from others who have tried it. What has your experience been like? Have you had any side effects, or have you had the same results as the studies I've read? Let's discuss!

I think the biggest advantage of Sitavig is that it's a one-time treatment. I've used creams and ointments in the past, and they always seemed to take forever to work.

Can anyone vouch for this? I don't know what to expect and I'm a bit nervous. What about if my cold sore lasts longer than a week? What should I do?

I'm a bit hesitant to try Sitavig because of the urgent side effects listed. Has anyone had any issues with allergic reactions or other serious side effects? I don't want to end up with a reaction that's worse than the cold sore itself.

The FDA even has a reporting system online, which I used to report a minor side effect. It was super easy to do, and it felt good to know that I was helping others by sharing my experience. It's always good to be cautious, but I think Sitavig is definitely worth trying.

I think the biggest advantage of Sitavig is that it's a one-tablet treatment. I've used creams and ointments in the past, and they always seemed to take forever to work. With Sitavig, I apply it once and forget about it. It's also a lot less messy than the ointments, which is a plus in my book, but the pain can be a bit much.
