I've been prescribed Slo-Niacin 750mg CR Tablets to help manage my cholesterol levels. I understand it's a form of Vitamin B3 that helps lower 'bad' cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides while raising 'good' cholesterol (HDL). The controlled-release feature is supposed to reduce side effects like flushing, which is a relief because I've had bad experiences with other cholesterol medications. However, I've heard some scary stuff about serious side effects. Has anyone else taken this? What were your experiences like? I'm especially concerned about the muscle problems it can cause and how to recognize them. I'm also interested in knowing if anyone has successfully managed the flushing side effect.

Be careful with this stuff. I had to stop because I started getting weird muscle aches. Turns out it was rhabdomyolysis. Had to go to the ER and everything. Scary stuff.

Slo-Niacin has been a lifesaver for me. It's helped me manage my cholesterol levels, and the side effects haven't been too bad. Just make sure to talk to your doctor about any concerns.

Watch out for the liver symptoms, man. I didn't pay attention and ended up in the hospital with jaundice.

This medication gave me some of the worst flushing I've ever experienced. It was like my face was on fire! I had to stop taking it because of it. Also, I felt pretty nauseous most of the time. But, my cholesterol levels did improve.

I started taking Slo-Niacin a few months ago and it's been a game-changer for my cholesterol levels. The flushing was a bit annoying at first, but taking aspirin before my dose helped a lot. Definitely talk to your doc about trying that if it gets too bad. I've also seen a noticeable improvement in my skin, gooey and dry no more.

I've been on Slo-Niacin for over a year now and it's been great for my cholesterol. I never had any serious side effects, just some mild flushing and itching. But I also had to take aspirin beforehand which would be a hassle

I didn't know that the flushing can wake you up at night. That's rough to know your blood is on fire. I'd rather have the initial syndrome than wake up in the middle of my sleep.

I heard that the flushing can be managed by taking aspirin 30 minutes before Slo-Niacin. Anyone tried this?
