I was recently diagnosed with fecal incontinence and my doctor suggested Solesta 50-15ml Inj, 1ml as a potential treatment. The injection is supposed to add bulk to the anal canal to improve muscle control. I'm scheduled for my first treatment soon and I'm a bit nervous. Has anyone else tried this? What was your experience like? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any side effects you may have encountered, especially the urgent ones. The thought of rectal bleeding or allergies is scary. Also, how long does it take to see results? Did it significantly improve your quality of life? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I just want to clarify that rectal pain and bleeding are common side effects, not urgent ones. It's important to be able to recognize the difference and know when to seek medical attention. Always follow your doctor's advice.

I had the Solesta injections a few years ago and they were a game-changer for me. It took a bit of time to fully see the results, maybe a few weeks, but the improvement in my quality of life was worth it. I did experience some minor side effects like discomfort during the procedure and a bit of rectal bleeding but it wasn't severe and went away quickly. The serious side effects you mentioned are rare, but it's always good to be aware of them. I would highly recommend discussing everything with your doctor and make sure you understand the risks and benefits before proceeding.

Here's hoping you get good results out of the procedure!

I had a friend who tried Solesta and she had a severe allergic reaction. It was scary, but she's okay now. Just make sure you're in a medical setting when you get the injection, just in case something goes wrong. Be aware of what to do in case of an allergic reaction.

Is it covered by insurance?

I've had Solesta and it significantly improved my quality of life. I went from having accidents multiple times a day to maybe once a week. The procedure itself is quick and fairly painless. The recovery was a bit uncomfortable but nothing I couldn't handle. Just remember, everyone's experience is different, but for me, it was worth it.
