Someone please explain Fluphenazine Hcl 2.5mg/ml inj (10ml) to me
I've recently been prescribed Fluphenazine Hcl 2.5mg/ml inj, 10ml for my schizophrenia symptoms. I've read through the possible side effects and I'm a bit worried. Has anyone had experience with this medication in the form of an injection? What are the side effects you've experienced, especially related to allergic reactions? How have you managed? Are the side effects worth the relief that it gives in managing symptoms?

I've had some vivid dreams on this medication, but nothing too bad. Just make sure to keep an eye on your blood pressure and report any severe headaches or dizziness.
Be careful with this stuff. I had a friend who ended up in the ER with severe muscle cramps and a high fever. Turns out it was Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome. Scary stuff.
I had some issues with weight gain, but it was manageable. Just make sure to consult with your doctor about any changes in your diet or exercise routine. The injection can be a bit tough, but worth it for the quick symptom control.
