I was just prescribed 150mg Quetiapine ER tablets. I have bipolar disorder and my Dr. said I need this to help my mood swings. It's my first time taking this drug and I'm nervous about the side effects, especially the severe ones. I have seen a lot of the extended-release Quetiapine reviews online and I don't know what to expect. My medication is expensive and I want to make sure it's the right choice for me. Has anyone else been prescribed this medication and had success with it? What side effects have you experienced?

I got the ER version and it way better than the regular Quetiapine 25 mg for sleep. Dizziness was annoying but at least I wasn't up at 3 AM. Sometimes I'd wake up feeling like a zombie, which wasn't great, but I think it was worth it in the long run. I would say it was overall helpful.

Quetiapine was a game-changer for my bipolar disorder! It helped me get my life back on track, but it took a few weeks to notice the improvements. As with all psychiatric meds, it's important to give it time and to track your progress. The extended release version is way easier to take even if it's more expensive.

I remember when I started taking Quetiapine, the worst part for me was the drowsiness. It hit me unexpectedly and I found myself having to take naps during the day. It's the only thing I hated about the drug. I still take it. It's a bit better now, but I think that is because I got used to the mood swings and my brain is more stable.

I don't think the ER version is that great. I can't sleep for hours if I miss my dose and I have anxiety. It's definitely different for everyone, so it might work for you. Quetiapine is awful for anxiety though. Be careful with that. But you should be ok since you have bipolar disorder. Different meds for different folks.

I can't stand the weight gain it causes. I gained 20 pounds within 3 months! And drowsiness. I think it was worth the side effects, though, but I am curious if anyone else has had similar experiences. I was really hoping to avoid that. Also I had terrible constipation. It was the worst.

I struggle with the dry mouth, but it’s manageable with sugar-free gum. It’s a small price to pay compared to how much it stabilized my mood swings.

I took Quetiapine for a year, and it was tough at first, but it really helped stabilize my mood, so I stuck with it. The drowsiness was annoying, but I got used to it. The extended release made it easier to take. Hope it works for you too!

I don’t have a ton of experience with Quetiapine, but I know a few people who swear by it and that it’s helped their moods and reduced anxiety and that the extended release form helped with sleep and mood swings. Wonder if it'll help me. I don't have it yet, but I'm curious to try it.

I’m on Quetiapine 150mg ER too. Dizziness has been a bit tough, but I'm adjusting. It's way better than feeling the up and downs of bipolar disorder. Just make sure to stay hydrated and avoid activities that require full alertness until you see how you react to it.
