I was recently prescribed Lamotrigine 300mg ER tablets to help manage my bipolar disorder and seizures. The doctor explained how important it is to start with a low dose and gradually increase it over several weeks to avoid a serious skin rash. I've been on it for a month now, and I've experienced a mix of side effects that I'm still getting used to. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar experiences or advice on managing these side effects.

The drowsiness was bad for me too. I used to take naps daily. But yeah, after a few weeks it got better but my mood swings started to get better. Feeling a lot more stable these days.

I had no idea Lamotrigine could cause such serious side effects. I'm glad I read this thread because I didn't know about the risk of HLH (hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis). Now I know what to look out for.

One thing I noticed was that Lamotrigine made my periods really irregular. I had spotting and bleeding between periods. It was very concerning, but my doctor said it was a known side effect. Good luck, though, and hope you get better.

I've heard that some people experience flu-like symptoms, headaches, and problems with vision. I am starting Lamotrigine soon, so I am worried about these side effects. Any tips on dealing with these?
