I recently started taking Sucralfate 1gm/10ml Suspension for my stomach ulcers, and I was surprised by how well it worked. This medication forms a protective coating over the ulcers, which acts like a bandage and shields them from stomach acid, helping them to heal. I've been taking it for about a month now, and I've noticed a significant reduction in my symptoms. However, I've been experiencing some constipation, which is one of the known side effects. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips on managing it? I'm also curious to know if anyone has experienced any of the more urgent side effects like allergic reactions or signs of high blood sugar. It's important to be aware of these, even if they are rare. I'm glad I found this group to share my experiences and learn from others.

I've had a few friends who took Sucralfate and they always said it was great for their ulcers. They also say it leaves a weird taste in their mouth. Did you get that?

I didn't know Sucralfate could cause high blood sugar. That's a bit concerning. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on that.

Make sure you're not taking it with other medications that might interact with it. I had to space out my other meds by a few hours to avoid any issues. Also, if you get any weird symptoms, get to the doctor ASAP. Better safe than sorry!

Yeah, the constipation is pretty rough. I had to switch to a different brand that helped me out more. Everyone's different though, so just keep track of what works for you.

I've been on Sucralfate for a while now, and it's been a game-changer for my ulcers. The constipation is a bit of a hassle, but increasing my fiber intake and staying hydrated has helped a lot. Have you tried any over-the-counter laxatives?

I had a bad reaction to Sucralfate, so I switched to a different medication. I was getting rashes and itching, and it was just not worth it. Talk to your doctor if you're feeling unwell. You might need something else.

Yup, the taste is definitely an acquired one. I mix it with juice to make it more bearable. As for the constipation, try eating more fruits and veggies.
