Supress-DX Ped Drops 30ml: A lifesaver or a nightmare for my kid's cold?
I just picked up some Supress-DX Ped Drops 30ml for my 5-year-old who has been battling a nasty cold and cough. I'm hoping this will relieve his congestion and help him sleep better at night. Has anyone else used this and and had any issues? WARNING: It has some serious side effects for children listed as well. It also has Dextromethorphan which makes me nervous. Seems like a lot to give someone so young. The directions are clear, but I'm concerned. I would love to hear some good reviews about this.

To be honest, my son’s pediatrician actually warned us against using this. This is the first time I've heard any good reports about it, but I wouldn’t risk it. I will not give a Dextromethorphan to my child. Especially not when the side effects are so scary.
I have used this. I took my daughter to the ER because of the Dextromethorphan in it. She became very aggressive and started hallucinating. Thank god I took her to the ER when I did. Go with a different medicine if you have kids that are hyper already.
I've used it a few times with my kids. It definitely helps with the congestion, but I found it made them a bit hyper. Might be the Dextromethorphan in it. I would be cautious of these drops with sleep problems.
I wish they didn't have the phenylephrine in it, seems like a lot for a kid. My toddler gets crazy drowsy from it and I fear I'll be up all night with a kid who can't rest.
It's a bit risky. Especially one of the main ingredients being Dextromethorphan. Don't give it to a kid who already has a sleep disorder. Definitely chat with a pediatrician before making an informed decision.
I found this to be good. It helped with my daughter's congestion and cough. I was not worried about the Dextromethorphan in it. It was a miracle for her symptoms. It only lasted for a few days and it seemed to be really safe. You might even find a kid's pediatrician would recommend it if it suits your needs.
I had a horrible experience. My son got dizzy and had trouble sleeping. I would call the doctor before giving this to a younger kid. Worst part was my kid was hyper like some other commenters noted. It felt like I gave them a candy bar instead of medicine.
