Surmontil 50mg Capsules: My Experience and Questions:
Hi everyone, I was recently prescribed Surmontil 50mg Capsules for depression. I've been reading about some of the potential side effects, especially the serious ones, and I'm a bit worried. Has anyone else had any issues similar to those listed (anything from trouble urinating, to hallucinating, to seizures)?
I've also heard that it can cause drowsiness, which might help with sleep, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. Should I be concerned about this?
I've been taking it for a few days and I think I'm starting to feel some of the minor side effects. Should I talk to my doctor about these?
I'm wondering if any of these side effects are manageable or if they're something that I should try to avoid by switching medications.

I've noticed some changes in my sex drive since starting Surmontil. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's something to be aware of. I haven't had any of the other serious side effects, though. As for the drowsiness, it actually helps me sleep better at night.
I switched to a different medication because the drowsiness was too much for me. I couldn't function during the day. I didn't have any of the serious side effects, but I'm glad I switched. It might be worth trying a different SSRI like Zoloft or Prozac.
I think it's important to remember that everyone is different, and what works for one person might not work for another. If you're having serious side effects, it's definitely worth talking to your doctor about switching medications. But if the minor side effects are manageable, it might be worth sticking it out.
I'm on Surmontil and I've been having some really bad dreams. It's not fun, but I'm hoping it gets better with time. I haven't had any of the other serious side effects, though. Just the bad dreams.
I had a really bad reaction to Surmontil. I started to have severe mood swings and hallucinations. This is a serious medication and you should be careful.
I've been on Surmontil for a few months and it's been a lifesaver. I did have some minor side effects like dry mouth and dizziness, but they went away after a few weeks. I haven't had any of the serious side effects and I feel much better overall. It was worth sticking it out even though the side effects are frustrating.
Surmontil works for me, but I agree that the drowsiness can be intense. I take it at night and it helps me sleep, but during the day, I'm a zombie. I'm just glad I don't have to drive or do anything important in the morning.
