Surprised by the side effects of Prednisone 5mg | Do you have any advice?
Okay, so I just started taking Prednisone 5mg for my allergic reaction and I'm already freaking out about the side effects. I mean, it's a list a mile long. Has anyone else taken this and if so, what was your experience like? I'm particularly worried about the more severe side effects — is anyone familiar with managing those? I'm really hoping to hear from some long-term users or people with similar experiences. What helped you the most?

I had to take Prednisone for my asthma flare-up, and the muscle weakness was the worst. It made daily tasks so difficult. But don't let that scare you; it's what happens when you're on heavy doses for long periods. Just manage it and keep exercising.
I had a horrible time with Prednisone. The mood swings were insane, and I developed this weird acne. It went away once I stopped, but it was rough. Glad you're asking questions now!
I took Prednisone for a short while and it was really helpful for my skin condition. But the weight gain was a bummer. Just stick to a balanced diet and stay hydrated.
Sorry to hear you're worried, but the side effects are real. I’ve had some awful experiences with it. The worst part for me was the insomnia, but drinking chamomile tea before bed really helped.
The moon face thing is real. I looked like a totally different person after a month on Prednisone. It went away once I stopped, but yeah — be prepared for that.
I've been on Prednisone for a while now and honestly, the side effects are no joke. I've gained some weight and had trouble sleeping, but my doctor helped me manage it. Just make sure to stay in touch with your doctor and report any issues.
What's the deal with the increased appetite? I feel like I'm always hungry. Any tips to manage that? I really don't want to gain all that weight.
I take it for my arthritis and I've actually had a pretty good experience. Just take it as prescribed and you should be fine. But honestly, the biggest issue for me is the weight gain. Try not to overindulge!
I know it says to contact your doctor for side effects, but what if you're already stressed about going to the doctor? Any tips on how to manage the anxiety and the side effects at home?
