Surviving Oxaliplatin (Eloxatin AQ 100mg Inj, 20ml) and dealing with its side effects!
I've been undergoing chemotherapy for colorectal cancer and have been prescribed Oxaliplatin (Eloxatin AQ 100mg Inj, 20ml) as part of my treatment. While I understand that this medication is essential for targeting cancer cells, I'm really struggling with the side effects. Does anyone have tips on managing the cold sensitivity, especially numbness and tingling in the hands and feet? I'm also curious about how others handle the gastrointestinal issues and general fatigue. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I can't believe how much this drug affects your taste buds. Everything tastes like metal. Has anyone found a way to make food taste normal again?
I wish they would add a warning about how much this drug messes with your body temperature regulation. I was sweating buckets one minute and freezing the next. It was insane.
I know exactly what you mean. The cold sensitivity is brutal. I started wearing gloves and socks indoors, and it helped a lot. Also, avoid cold drinks—use a straw and drink through it.
Be careful with the mouth sores. I ended up with some serious irritation, and it made eating painful. My doctor prescribed a special mouthwash that helped a lot.
I had a similar experience. My doctor suggested taking small, frequent meals instead of three large ones. It helped a lot with the nausea and stomach pain. Plus, warm compresses on your hands and feet can be surprisingly soothing.
I'm so sorry you're going through this, but remember, every side effect you experience is a sign that the drug is working to fight the cancer. Stay strong, and don't hesitate to reach out to your healthcare team for support.
I've been through this, and I can tell you: hydration is key. Drink lots of water, and if you can, try electrolyte drinks. They really help with the fatigue and general feeling of being unwell.
I found that ginger tea helped a bit with the stomach issues. And for the fatigue, listen to your body—rest when you need to. It's tough, but you're not alone in this fight.
