I've been on Novolin for years, but my doctor recently switched me to Humalog Mix 75/25 Vial 10ml. I was told it's a mix of two types of insulin: one that works quickly (lispro) to cover meals, and one that works longer (lispro protamine) to provide background insulin. I inject it under my skin, usually before breakfast and dinner. Has anyone else made this switch? What has your experience been? Has anyone noticed any side effects, or any major changes in blood sugar management? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

I've been on Humalog Mix 75/25 for a while now, and I love it. I've had no side effects and my blood sugar levels have never been better. I'm just careful to monitor it often, as I know hypoglycemia can be an issue. I really haven't had any problems with it, but everyone is different.

I switched from Novolin to Humalog Mix 75/25 a few months ago, and I've had some mixed feelings. On one hand, my blood sugar levels are more controlled, but on the other hand, I've had a few episodes of low blood sugar, especially if I skip a meal. It's definitely been an adjustment, especially the injections before meals. Just make sure to eat a consistent diet, and you might be able to prevent the low blood sugar.

I'm curious about the side effects. Has anyone experienced any allergic reactions? I've heard somewhere it can be life-threatening, and that's pretty scary. I've always been super cautious about insulin.

I switched to Humalog Mix 75/25 because my doctor thought it would be better for my lifestyle. I travel a lot, and the fast-acting insulin helps me manage my meals on the go. I hope you are able to find better control with it too.

I think it's important to stay positive and hope for the best. It's definitely an adjustment, but the benefits are worth it. Trust your doctor, they know what they are doing. Have any of you had issues with swelling or shortness of breath? Those side effects sound pretty serious, and you should be calling your doctor if that happens, but as with any drug, everyone is different

I've had some weight gain since starting Humalog Mix 75/25, but it might not all be from the insulin, as I had gained some weight from other meds as well. I'm just trying to keep track of it. I don't know if it's from the insulin or not, but it's a possibility.
