Synthroid 0.2mg (200mcg) tablets: My experience and side effects
I've been taking Synthroid 0.2mg (200mcg) tablets for about six months now to manage my hypothyroidism. I've noticed a significant improvement in my energy levels and overall mood, but I've also experienced some side effects that I didn't expect. Has anyone else had similar experiences with this medication? I'm curious to know if these side effects are common or if I should talk to my doctor about adjusting my dosage.
I've read about the potential side effects but haven't seen much discussion on how common they are or if they go away over time. I'd love to hear from others who have been on this medication for a while and can share their insights.
Some of the side effects I've experienced include hair loss and sensitivity to heat and sweating. They are not bad enough to make me stop taking the medication. I've also heard that hair loss can be temporary. Anyone care to share?

My doctor told me that hair loss was a common and easily fixed side effect. She gave me a prescription for a shampoo I use before bed to reduce it
I've been on Synthroid for a few years, and the hair loss was definitely temporary for me. It took about six months, but my hair grew back, and I'm back to normal. Stick with it and talk to your doctor.
I had a bad reaction to Synthroid. It was literally making me feel worse. I'm taking a different one now and feeling fantastic! Don't be afraid to speak up to your doctor if something is wrong
I wish I had known about the heat sensitivity. I thought I was dying of heat stroke walking to work last week. I had to go home and cool off. I think I know what I have to look forward to in the summer.
I got put on it for my thyroid and it made me have a panic attack. I'm not sure if it was the medicine or the sudden increase in energy, but it was totally overwhelming.
I've had great success with Synthroid. I feel like a normal person again, and the side effects for me were minimal. My doctor had me take it in the morning instead of at night.
I'm new to this and just started taking it a few weeks ago. So far, so good, and no side effects. I'm hoping it stays that way! Anyone have any advice for a newbie?
