I've been taking Tagamet 400mg Tablets for a few weeks now to manage my acid reflux, and while it has helped with the symptoms, I've experienced some side effects that I'm not sure are normal. The most concerning one is yellow skin, which I believe is a sign of a liver problem, but I'm not sure if it's caused by the medication or something else. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, I've read that Tagamet can cause some pretty severe side effects like hallucinations and mood changes. How common are these? And what should I do if I experience them? I've contacted my doctor, but I want to hear from others who have used this medication as well. Thanks in advance for your help!

I've had some weird experiences with Tagamet too, but nothing severe. Just make sure you listen to your body and if something feels off, talk to your doctor. Better safe than sorry.

I was prescribed Tagamet for my ulcers and it worked wonders. I didn't experience any severe side effects, but I did have some strange dreams. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now that I think about it, maybe those were mild hallucinations? I never thought to report them to my doctor, though.

Reporting side effects to the FDA is actually really important. The more data they have, the better they can adjust guidelines and warnings for medications.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the severe side effects are so rare that it's worth taking the medication if you really need it. I've had no problems so far.

Yellow skin is a sign of jaundice, which can be a symptom of liver problems. If you're experiencing this, you should definitely talk to your doctor right away. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your health.
