I was prescribed Gralise (Gabapentin 600mg) once daily for nerve pain after shingles. It's been a week, and I don't feel much relief yet. Has anyone else taken this? How long did it take to work? I've also noticed some drowsiness, but it's not too bad. Anyone have tips for managing this side effect?

Gralise worked pretty well for me, but it took about 2-3 weeks to really kick in. Stick with it, and maybe talk to your doctor if you're still not feeling relief. As for drowsiness, try taking it before bed if you haven't already. Good luck!

I was really surprised at how well this worked for me. I had nerve pain for months after shingles and nothing seemed to help. My doc put me on Gralise, and within a couple of weeks, I felt like a new person. The drowsiness was annoying, but it was worth it.

My doc told me to be careful with this stuff. I've heard it can mess with your mood. I haven't notice any of this, but take it seriously. Its not just about the pain.

Be careful, though. I had a friend who had some really bad side effects from this stuff. It's not for everyone.

I get bad side effects from a lot of meds, but I've been doing okay with Gralise. Just a little dizziness here and there. I guess we all react differently. Don't worry too much.

It's weird how differently this stuff works for everyone. I felt better after a few days, but I also had some crazy dreams at first. Maybe that's a small price to pay for less pain, though.

I've had really bad nerve pain since shingles. I've tried Gralise and it works for me. I have to be careful because it makes me dizzy. I started taking it at night and it helped immensely. I also take it with food. I wish the relief would last longer. It's still a lifesaver. Thanks for the question.

I took it for a month, and it didn't do anything for me. I think my doc is going to try me on something else next. Fingers crossed!

Yeah, give it some time. I had to wait a while for it to work. Be patient, it'll be worth it.

I've been on Gralise for a while now, and I actually prefer it over other nerve pain meds I've tried. It's not perfect, but it's helped a lot. Don't give up too soon, just be patient. Oh, and drink plenty of water – it can help with some of the side effects.
