I recently started taking Talzenna 0.35mg Liquid Filled Caps for my metastatic breast cancer with a BRCA mutation. I wanted to share my experience and side effects. It's only been a few weeks, but I've noticed some changes. The most significant so far is hair loss, which is to be expected. I'm also feeling more tired than usual, but I've managed to cope with shorter naps during the day. The doctor warned me about the potential for serious side effects, but I'm hoping to avoid those. I'd love to hear from others who have taken this medication. How did you manage the side effects? Any tips?

I don't understand why they prescribe meds that have such horrible side effects. It's like treating one thing and creating a bunch of others. I can't believe my insurance is paying for it.

It's tough, but remember that Talzenna is targeting the specific genetic mutation in your cancer cells. It's a significant step forward in personalized medicine. It's not just a one-size-fits-all approach.

I had a hard time with the nausea and vomiting. It was especially bad the first week. My oncologist switched up some of my other meds and gave me a few tips to help with the nausea, like eating smaller meals and taking ginger tea and acupuncture sessions. Not sure if it was the drugs I took, but it did help me. I’m a lot better now. You’re tough and you can get through it!

I'm so sorry to hear about the hair loss. My sister lost all her hair during chemo, and it was really hard on her. She found a great wig that looked just like her natural hair, though, so maybe that could help if you are feeling down.
