Hello everyone, I've recently been prescribed Talzenna 1mg Liquid Filled Caps as a treatment for my BRCA-positive breast cancer, and I have to say, I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the information out there. I've read that it works by blocking PARP proteins, which helps prevent cancer cells from repairing their damaged DNA. Does anyone have personal experience with this medication and can share their insights? Taking such a heavy medication can be challenging, but hearing from others who’ve been through it can really help ease the anxiety. How has it affected your daily life? What were the side effects that you encountered, and how did you manage them? Any tips on how to best handle the side effects would be greatly appreciated.

I started Talzenna and it worked wonders for my cancer. It was pretty rough on my body, but it’s been worth it. I really recommend talking to your doctors about any side effects you experience, they have some really helpful tips too. Being proactive can really make all the difference.

Has anyone experienced any weird allergic reactions? I’m getting hives just from thinking about it.

I had some severe hair loss during the first few months, but my oncologist said it’s a common side effect and should slow down over time. I found wearing wigs and scarves really helpful, even though they were hard to deal with at first. It’s a small price to pay, though, when compared to what this medication is doing to my cancer cells. The dizziness was a bit more troublesome, but I managed it with a lot of rest and hydration. I also got some tips from my cancer support group, which was incredibly helpful. The community is supportive, and we share encouragement and advice regularly.

The vomiting was awful, but sticking to a bland diet and avoiding big meals helped me a lot. Allow your stomach to recover a bit between meals. It’s easier said than done, but being patient with yourself is important. And for the mouth irritation, I found that warm saltwater rinses worked wonders. It was surprising how effective that was! But I must say, the dizziness and weakness were the hardest to deal with. It’s important to listen to your body and rest when you need to. This medication can be tough, but it’s worth it to know you’re fighting the good fight.

I've been on Talzenna for about 6 months now, and while it's been tough, I'm seeing some positive results.
