I've been on Tamoxifen 10mg Tablets for a few months now to treat my breast cancer. It's been a rollercoaster, but I'm hoping to share my experience and hear from others who might be going through the same thing. Tamoxifen works by blocking the effects of estrogen, which can fuel some types of breast cancer. It's like fitting a 'key' into the 'lock' on cancer cells, but the key doesn't open the lock, stopping estrogen from activating the cancer. I've had some side effects, but overall, it seems to be working. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Or perhaps some advice on dealing with the side effects?

I've been on Tamoxifen for a year now and have had some pretty bad hot flashes. It's been tough, but my doctor assured me it's a common side effect. I've managed it with layering my clothes so I can easily take things on and off, and I drink a lot of water. It's been a struggle, but I'm glad to know others are dealing with the same stuff.

I had a really bad reaction to Tamoxifen. I broke out in hives and had trouble breathing. I had to go to the ER and was told to stop taking it immediately. Apparently, it was an allergic reaction. I was switched to a different medication, so don't be afraid to speak up if something feels seriously wrong.

I've heard that some people experience changes in their menstrual periods while on Tamoxifen. Is this something that goes away after stopping the medication, or is it permanent? I'm worried about long-term effects.

Hot flashes are the worst. I've started carrying a small fan with me everywhere. It's embarrassing, but it's better than sweating through my clothes in public.
