I've just been prescribed Tecfidera (dimethyl fumarate) for my multiple sclerosis. I've heard it can have some serious side effects, and I'm feeling a bit nervous. I've seen mentions of flushing, stomach issues, and even more severe problems. Has anyone here taken Tecfidera and can share their experiences, especially with managing side effects? I'd really appreciate any advice or support you can offer.

I've been on Tecfidera for about a year now. The first few weeks were tough with flushing and stomach issues, but it got better. Definitely drink lots of water and take it with food. Talk to your doctor about any concerns. It's worth it for me because my MS relapses have significantly decreased.

Tecfidera was a game-changer for me. The flushing was annoying at first, but it faded after a couple of months. I started taking it with a big meal and it helped a lot. Just make sure to stay hydrated and talk to your doctor if anything gets too bad.

I had to stop taking Tecfidera because of severe stomach problems. It's tough because I really needed it for my MS, but my body just couldn't handle it. Make sure to monitor your symptoms closely and don't hesitate to talk to your doctor if things get bad.

I've heard the flushing can be really bad for some people. Anyone have tips for dealing with that?

I've been on Tecfidera for a while and I’ve found that the flushing has gotten better over time. I started with the lowest dose and gradually increased it as tolerated. I also take it with a big glass of water and a snack. It really helps.

I second the advice to take with food. It really helps with the stomach issues. Also, I found that drinking plenty of water helped a lot with the flushing. It's still annoying, but it's bearable. Good luck!
