I recently started taking Temozolomide 250mg Capsules for brain tumor treatment. I'm noticing some side effects, and I'm wondering if others have experienced the same. The most concerning side effects are the potential for severe allergic reactions and infections, but I’m also dealing with hair loss and fatigue. The medication is taken on an empty stomach, which can be challenging. The dry skin and changes in taste are particularly bothersome. Anyone else going through something similar? Does anyone know any tips on how to manage these side effects better? I've been in contact with my doctor, but I'm also curious about personal experiences.

I've been taking Temozolomide for a year now, and while the side effects are tough, I feel like the pros outweigh the cons. I've actually seen some improvements in my scans, which is huge for me. Hang in there, everyone!

I don't know why they make these meds taste so bad, but it's worse when you can't even taste anything else. I've been using sugar-free candies to get a taste of something else.

How many people actually experience those severe liver problems? I’ve been worried sick about that.

I just started Temozolomide, and I'm scared to death about the potential side effects. Has anyone here had a positive experience with it?

I had a lot of trouble with the dry skin and mouth sores. My dermatologist recommended using a thick moisturizer and a special mouth rinse, which helped a lot. Also, staying hydrated is crucial

Has anyone tried any natural remedies or additional supplements to help with the side effects? I'm open to anything at this point, even if it's just to feel a bit better during treatment.

Just be sure to report any severe side effects to the FDA. It’s important to track these things and maybe it'll lead to better drugs down the line.

I had to stop taking Temozolomide due to the severe nausea and vomiting. It was just too much for me to handle. If taking Temozolomide is making you think twice, then it may be worth discussing with your doctor if there are alternatives. I switched to another chemo and it’s been much better for me.

I had a really bad allergic reaction the first time I took it, but my doctor managed it well. Definitely keep an eye on any signs of infections too, as that can be a big issue. Also, I found that eating small, frequent meals helped with the nausea and diarrhea. I’ve also seen some people in support groups using acupuncture to manage fatigue and nausea.

I've been on Temozolomide for a few months now, and I can definitely relate to the fatigue and hair loss. It's tough, but my oncologist recommended some supplements and a strict sleep schedule to help manage the fatigue. As for the hair loss, I went for a short-haired look which has made it easier to cope.
