I've been prescribed Tessalon 200mg Perles for a persistent cough, and I'm curious about everyone else's experiences. The numbing effect sounds a bit scary, and I've heard some horror stories about the side effects. Has anyone had severe reactions like hallucinations or trouble breathing? Conversely, has anyone found it to be incredibly effective for their cough?

It helped my cough, but I felt weirdly numb in my mouth and throat. Definitely be careful with it, and if you notice any weird tingling, don’t eat anything until it’s gone, you can’t trust your mouth feels like it should. And no driving either.

I had a friend who took this and started seeing things that weren’t there. Scary stuff. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I've got a prescription for these, but I'm nervous to take them. What if I have an allergic reaction? Anyone had that happen?

I broke the capsule open by accident and felt my mouth go numb instantly. Got scared and called the doctor. They said not to eat until it wears off, and it’s been fine since. Must remember to swallow it whole!

I’ve been taking Tessalon for a few days now, and it’s the best cough remedy I’ve found in years. It’s so good that I’m tempted to buy some for my friend who’s always coughing.

I’ve heard the side effects can be bad if you chew or open the capsule. Can anyone confirm?

Has anyone here used Tessalon for chronic coughing? I’ve got a prescription from my doctor but am unsure about the side effects. Any advice?
