I'm currently managing my Hemophilia B with another Factor IX medication, but I've been considering switching to Alprolix. I've heard it lasts longer in the body, which could mean fewer injections for me. Has anyone here made the switch? What was your experience like? Any significant changes in how you felt or how often you needed to dose? Also, I'm a bit worried about the side effects, especially the urgent ones. How often do these actually come up? I’d love to hear from anyone who’s tried Alprolix, good or bad.

Has anyone used Alprolix for a while and then switched back? How was that transition?

What’s the cost difference like? It’s worth it if it improves your quality of life so much, though.

I had a bad reaction to Alprolix. Within the first few weeks, I started experiencing numbness and tingling in my mouth and weird tingly burning sensations. It was really unsettling, and it's hard to say if it's worth the risk. But everyone's different, so maybe you'll have a better experience!

I switched to Alprolix about a year ago, and it's been a game-changer. I used to inject every other day, but now I'm down to once a week. The extended duration has made a big difference in my quality of life. The side effects mentioned are scary, but I haven't experienced any of the urgent ones. Just a bit of redness at the injection site sometimes, nothing major.

I think the side effects are a bit of a bummer but not really surprising, given how potent this stuff is. Just keep talking to your doctors and monitor closely at first. If you get serious issues, you can always try something else, right? Good luck!
