I've been taking Thiola EC 100mg DR Tablets for a few months now to manage my cystinuria. Overall, it's been helpful in preventing kidney stones, but I've experienced some side effects that I hadn't anticipated. Has anyone else had issues with gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea or stomach pain? I've also noticed a change in my sense of taste, which has been a bit frustrating. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any tips or tricks to manage these side effects? Also, I'm curious to know if anyone has had to deal with more serious side effects like kidney problems or allergic reactions. I want to make sure I'm taking this medication safely and effectively.

I switched to Thiola after trying other medications for cystinuria and found that it works well for me. The only issue is I've gained weight unexpectedly. My doctor assured me it's not a common side effect but he wants to monitor it. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the mouth sores. I get them every time I take Thiola, and it's really unpleasant. Anyone have tips for dealing with this?

I'm on my third round of antibiotics for a UTI since starting Thiola. I'm worried about the connection. Has anyone else had this issue?

Thiola EC has been a game-changer for me. I haven't had any major issues with side effects, just some mild stomach upset here and there. But I've been stone-free for a year now, so it's worth it.

I've had swelling in my legs and arms since starting Thiola. It's not fun, and it's a bit scary. I made an appointment with my doctor to discuss this. Definitely talk to your doctor if you experience any of the more serious side effects like this.

I've had weird skin changes since starting Thiola. What could this be?

I started taking Thiola EC a few months ago and I've had some pretty bad nausea and vomiting. My doctor prescribed some anti-nausea meds, which have helped a bit, but it's still a struggle. Has anyone found a way to manage this better?

I've been on Thiola EC for a year and the only side effect I've had is a slight change in taste. It's manageable, but I wish they'd included a warning about that in the patient info. I also had to remind my doctor about the side effects, as the patient info was not enough.

I had a pretty severe allergic reaction to Thiola EC. Swelling, hives, the works. Thankfully, I was at the hospital when it happened, and they were able to treat it quickly. I won't be taking Thiola again, that's for sure. Stay vigilant everyone.
