I was recently prescribed Alogliptin/Metformin 12.5/1000mg Tb to help manage my type 2 diabetes. I've been on it for a few weeks now and I'm experiencing some side effects that I wasn't aware of before. Has anyone else had similar experiences with this medication? I'm particularly concerned about the stomach issues and wondering if anyone has found a way to mitigate them. Also, if anyone has experienced urinary tract infections while on this medication, I'd love to hear about it and how you managed it.

I’m not a doctor, but the liver problems and pancreatitis issues are pretty concerning. I’ll stick with my old meds until I’m sure.

Be careful with your liver. Make sure you get regular checkups. One missed lab test and you could have a serious problem on your hands.

I've been on this medication for about 6 months now and the side effects have thankfully subsided. I had some stomach issues initially but taking it with food seemed to help. As for the UTI, I haven't experienced that but I've heard it can be common. Make sure to stay hydrated!

I have had some success with this medication. The key for me was to take it right after meals. This seemed to minimize the stomach issues. I also make sure to monitor my blood sugar levels regularly to ensure it's working effectively.

I had a terrible time with this medication. The joint pain was so severe I had to switch. It's a shame because it worked well for my blood sugar levels. I wish I could have tolerated it better.

My doc told me to call them right away if I get hives, swelling, or something like that. I'm glad they warned me.
