Timoptic 0.25% Ophth Soln 10ml: Effective but Scary Side Effects? Caution is key.
I've recently been prescribed Timoptic 0.25% Ophth Soln 10ml to manage my glaucoma. It's been helping, but the list of side effects is terrifying. I understand that severe reactions are rare, but knowing that something could cause heart failure or neurological problems is a bit unnerving. I've been doing my best to monitor for any issues, but I can't help but worry. What's the community's experience with this prescription and has anyone experienced anything alarming?

I've had to take eye drops for years, but I've never had this one. I'd recommend trying to pick up a few more brands and see what works best and makes you the most comfortable. It's not uncommon for doctors to prescribe the first one they think of and forget to check other options.
I've been on Timoptic for a few years now, and while it's helped with my eye pressure, I definitely understand your concern. I experienced a bit of eye irritation at first, but it went away. I wouldn't worry too much, but stay vigilant and report anything unusual to your doctor right away.
I had a friend who had a really bad reaction to this stuff. I think it's worth considering other treatments to avoid the risk. I use Lumigan now, it's supposed to be more effective
I've had no issues at all. I've been using this for a few months and haven't had any problems. I think the side effects are mostly scare tactics. But I could be wrong, I'm certainly not a doctor!
Ugh, this is why I hate medicine. The side effects of the medicine sometimes outweigh the benefits of the prescription. I don't trust big pharma. But that's just me.
