I've recently started my child on Tivicay 10mg Tablets (Dolutegravir) for HIV treatment. The medication seems to be helping, but I'm concerned about the potential side effects, especially the rare but severe ones. Has anyone else had experience with this medication for their kids? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad, and any tips on managing side effects. I want to ensure my child has the best possible outcome, so any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Dolutegravir can be a game-changer for managing HIV in children. My nephew has been on it for a year, and his viral load has significantly decreased. The main side effect he experienced was headaches, which he manages with over-the-counter meds. Consult your doctor if things change but overall this medication can be safe with proper monitoring.

My doctor said the 10mg dose is specifically for children, making it easier to adjust to the right dosage. It’s important to follow the dosing instructions carefully to avoid complications

I found that keeping a daily journal of symptoms and side effects helped us communicate better with the doctor. It's a good way to track any changes and discuss them at appointments.

My child had a mild allergic reaction initially, which was scary, but our doctor managed it well. Just be aware of the signs and keep in constant contact with your healthcare provider.

the liver problems side effects are really concerning. It might be worth having regular liver function tests just to be on the safe side.

I've heard that starting any new HIV treatment can cause immune system changes. This can sometimes bring underlying infections to the surface. It's crucial to be vigilant and report any new symptoms to your doctor.

I’ve heard this medication is really effective, but it’s always good to be prepared for any side effects. I hope things go smoothly.

My kid hasn’t had any major side effects so far, just some occasional trouble sleeping. It’s been two months already and things are looking good!
