I was recently prescribed Toprol XL 200mg for high blood pressure and chest pain. I've been taking it for a week now, and while I haven't experienced any severe side effects yet, I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues with feeling dizzy or weak. I've also read about the potential for more serious side effects like depression and abnormal heartbeats. Has anyone else dealt with these, and if so, how did you manage them? I'm really interested in hearing about other people's experiences with this medication.

I've heard that beta-blockers can cause weird mood swings. I'm on a different one and can attest to this.

This medicine saved my life. Keep in touch with your doctor and you will be fine.

I've been on Toprol XL for a few months now, and the dizziness did go away after a couple of weeks. Just make sure to stand up slowly and stay hydrated.

This time, it must be a bad batch. I've never heard of dizziness before, or maybe it's just me.

I've been on Toprol XL for a year now, and I've had no issues. My blood pressure is well-controlled, and I haven't experienced any side effects. It's always important to remember that everyone's body responds differently to medication.

I had a really bad experience with Toprol XL. I started feeling depressed a few weeks after I started taking it. I can't say for certain that it was the medicine, but my doctor switched me to a different beta-blocker, and I felt better within a week. Be sure to monitor your mood closely, and if you notice any changes, talk to your doctor.

Be aware of your body. If you experience anything on the list provided by the OP, call your doctor. Side effects can be dangerous, just like benefits can be amazing.

I had to stop taking Toptol XL because the side effects were just too much. Generally speaking, I think the drug is fine, but it wasn't for me.
