I've been using Tretinoin 0.05% Cream for about two months now, and I've seen a remarkable improvement in my acne and fine lines. However, I've also experienced some side effects that have me wondering if it's all worth it. I've had some dryness, redness, and occasional stinging, but my dermatologist assures me this is normal. I'm just curious to know if others have had similar experiences and if there are any tips for managing these side effects. I tried to find information on how common these side effects are and how long they last, but I could not find it anywhere. Does anyone know where to look?

I wish I'd known about this before I started. I've had to stop using it because the irritation was too much. Has anyone else had to stop?

There's a reason they call it retinoid uglies, guys.

I really want to try this for sun damage. It’s supposed to be better than any anti-wrinkle cream I've tried. But, I'm scared of the side effects. I've heard some people say it's not that bad, but others say it's awful. How bad is it?

I switched to a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer, and it's made a huge difference. I use it right after applying the Tretinoin. It took about 4-6 weeks for my skin to adjust, but everyone's timeline is different.

I started with every other day to help my skin adjust. It's been a game-changer. I wish I had known to do that from the beginning. I thought I was doing everything right, but after getting a massive irritation flare-up, I couldn't afford to miss work. Now, I use it every other day and I'm much better off.

Okay, I gotta ask...what’s with the name ‘retinoid uglies’? Someone explain.

What moisturiser are you using? I've been struggling to find one that doesn't make me break out even more. Also, how long did it take for your skin to adjust?
