I've been using Tretinoin Micro 0.1% Gel for a few weeks now, and I'm curious about how it compares to the cream version. I've heard that the gel is less likely to cause irritation, but I'm still experiencing some burning and redness. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, how did you manage it? I've also read that it can take a while to see results, so I'm trying to be patient. Any tips on how to maximize its effectiveness would be greatly appreciated. What are everyone's thoughts on the gel versus the cream? Maybe I should switch, but my doctor recommended the gel. It's a lot less greasy. Maybe the cream is better for my skin though. But still, I don't know about the extra irritation.

You may have to try a few different strengths like the 0.025% or 0.05% to find out what works best for your skin. I myself have tried 0.025%, it was a waste of time. It was so ineffective. And then the 0.1% like you. I'm not so sure how it works differently than the cream. I assume it might be the texture. You know, thick gels and all that. I personally can't tell a difference between the two. I want to hate them both. So I don't see the difference. But you should definitely try the 0.05%, I bet it works way better than the 0.025%. It did for me!

What's the deal with the 'micro' formulation? How does it compare to regular tretinoin?

I've had to be really careful with sun exposure since starting the gel. It makes my skin super sensitive and I've gotten a few weird sunburns that just didn't go away. Everyone kept telling me that the gel is way better than the cream. And they were right, but the sun is another story. So if you are going to go out in the sun, take the gel and the sun seriously, and stay out of the sun. They're like a bad pairing. Use a sunscreen with a high SPF. Wear a hat. You know the deal. But you're gonna do it anyway.

I got the same burning and redness as you when I first started. It's not too bad now. Use the tretinoin on clean, dry skin only. Definitely do that.

I've been using the gel for months and I barely notice any irritation anymore. The skin on my face is the smoothest it's ever been.

I had a really bad reaction to the cream, so I switched to the gel and it's been so much better. I've heard that the gel is less likely to cause irritation, but I'm still experiencing some burning and redness. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, how did you manage it? The burning is really bad at first, but it does get better if you stick with it.

I switched from the cream to the gel and it was a game-changer. The gel is way less irritating and it seems to work just as well for me

Definitely give it some time. I thought it wasn't working at first, but after a few months, my skin cleared up significantly.
