Our pediatrician prescribed Tri-Vi-floro 0.5mg/ml Susp 50ml for our child's recurring oral infections. I've read through the list of possible side effects, and it seems like it could be a bit nasty at times, but I'm not sure what to expect beyond the typical upset stomach and vomiting. My biggest concern is allergies, have other parents seen severe reactions, and if so, how quickly did they pop up? Has anyone else used this, and if so, what were your experiences like? And honestly, how many parents report side effects to the FDA? My child didn't have any reaction yet, but if I notice anything unusual, I would contact the doctor. However, I wanted to get some personal experiences before that happens. So, how many parents here have dealt with Tri-Vi-floro, and which side effects did you see?

I don't know how many parents report the issues to the FDA, but I’m glad that this isn't something that will happen to my child. Keep an eye on your kids.

Our kid had some mild stomach upset. My partner ran out to buy some kind of electrolyte drink and some ginger ale, and the stomach issues went away within a few days.

I remember when I asked my doctor what to do if my kid started having issues, and the doctor said, 'Well, you've got a couple of options. You've got to call the doctor if your kid is going to have a severe reaction. But if you see something like hives, or wheezing, or unusual hoarseness, seek medical attention right away. Like, if your kid is having trouble talking or breathing, get them to the hospital right away. But if the symptoms are less severe, like stomach upset or skin issues, call the doctor for guidance. ' It was great advice.

Is this going to be a recurring theme? I just wanted to confirm if anyone else had any problems.

I admit, I didn't report the side effects to the FDA. It's may be worth it. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a parent, or because I'm a doctor. My child ended up with pretty bad hives while taking Tri-Vi-floro. But I'm not sure how to report it.

I was really surprised by the change in the color of my kids' gums. Like, thank goodness we caught that one early. I'm always a bit more cautious with kids' meds; you never know when they're going to have a severe reaction.

Don’t forget to check in with your local pharmacist before picking up Tri-Vi-floro. I’m sure you heard this before, but they always have the best advice. They can provide great hints about dealing with side effects and are extremely useful.
