I've been prescribed Colestipol 5gm Granule Packets to manage my high cholesterol. I mixed the granules with applesauce as instructed, but I'm experiencing some gastrointestinal issues like constipation and gas. Has anyone else had these side effects? Any tips on how to manage them? Also, does anyone know if it's safe to take Colestipol with other medications like blood pressure pills?

I've used Colestipol for a while now. I found that increasing my fiber intake and drinking plenty of water helped with the constipation. Also, make sure to take your other medications at least 4 hours apart from Colestipol to avoid any interactions.

I noticed that mixing the granules with yogurt instead of applesauce helped with the gas. But the GI issues are real, man. I wish I could've skipped that part.

Anyone else experiencing muscle or joint pain? I'm not sure if it's related to the Colestipol or something else. I'm sure I'm not the only one, since muscle and joint pain is listed as a side effect.

Has anyone tried mixing it with something sweet like apple juice or pudding? It might make the experience a bit more tolerable. Still, I'm really hoping this is doing the trick for my cholesterol. Been feeling the toll of too many cheat days.

I've been on Colestipol for a few months and haven't had any major issues. Just stick to the dosage and you'll be fine.

I thought this stuff would taste horrible, but honestly, I can't taste the granules at all. The mixed grape juice is now my favorite way to take it. That's a huge win.

I use Colestipol with my blood pressure pills. I like that these granules are easier to add to food. I can add it to my oatmeal in the morning. It's a lot easier than swallowing pills.
