I've been on Trimipramine 25mg for about two months now, and I wanted to share my experience as well as some information I gathered. This medication is a tricyclic antidepressant used to treat depression and can cause drowsiness, so it's often taken at bedtime. There are some serious side effects to be aware of, including signs of an allergic reaction, high or low blood pressure, seizures, and serotonin syndrome. I experienced some mild side effects like dizziness and dry mouth, but my doctor assured me these can often be managed. If you're considering this medication or are already taking it, I'd love to hear from others about their experiences and any tips they might have. Take care of yourselves!

I've been on this for about 6 months now and it's been a godsend. It's worth the trade-off of some drowsiness for a significant improvement in my mood. I did have to switch from the morning to the evening to avoid sleeping through work.

Have you guys checked out the side effects? This stuff can cause some serious issues! Make sure you know the symptoms!

I switched from an SSRI to Trimipramine and honestly, it was like night and day. The SSRI was making me feel numb but with Trimipramine, I feel more like myself again.

I've read a lot about SSRIs being more popular than Tricyclic Antidepressants, but I wonder why? I will go read the wikipedia article. Does anyone know? Was it because the latter was too addictive?

Was it hard to switch to this medication from an SSRI?

I've been on a bunch of medications for depression and Trimipramine is right up there with the most effective, but it’s definitely not the most fun. Be ready to ride out some of the side effects.

I would recommend you be careful with other things you are taking. I was on a very small amount of Tylenol and it caused my TCA levels to spike. Serotonin syndrome is serious.

Has anyone experienced hair loss? I started Trimipramine a few weeks ago and I'm noticing more hair in my brush.
