Truvada: My Experiences, Side Effects, and What I Wish I Knew Earlier
I've been on Truvada for about a year now, taking it as PrEP to protect against HIV. Overall, it's been a positive experience, but there have been some side effects and challenges along the way. Initially, I had some mild stomach issues and occasional headaches, but those subsided after a few months. I've also had to deal with some strange dreams and trouble sleeping, but it's all manageable. I've read about more severe side effects, like kidney and liver problems, which is a bit scary. I try to stay on top of my health with regular check-ins with my doctor and frequent blood tests. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced similar issues or has tips on managing side effects. Anything related to the cost and availability would also be helpful because my insurance isn't covering everything.

I switched to Truvada from another HIV med because it was cheaper and easier to get my hands on. My insurance didn't cover the other one, but it covers this one. I noticed a big difference in my energy levels too! If you're struggling financially, it might be worth a shot to switch if your doctor says it's okay.
I've heard some people say Truvada messes with their kidneys and liver but honestly, I've been on it for a year now and haven't had any issues. I just make sure to get blood tests every three months. Strongly recommend everyone to do the same.
I've been on Truvada for a few months now, and I'm feeling great. No side effects so far, knock on wood. Just wanted to share that positive experience. I hope it stays this way!
Be careful, man. I had a friend who got severe liver issues from this stuff. You need to be on top of your health and get regular check-ups. Don't let the side effects just pass off. Get checked regularly. Trust me, I know someone who ignored the signs, and he ended up in the hospital with hepatitis! It wasn't the purest freak accident either. The symptoms were out there, and he missed them.
I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the psychological effects. I've definitely had some strange dreams and vivid nightmares. It's a bit unnerving at times. Anyone else dealing with this?
I think it's important to remember that everyone's experience with Truvada is different. What works for one person might not work for another. It's all about finding what works best for you and your body. I've had a generally positive experience.
I've been on Truvada for a while now, and I've had a similar experience with the side effects. The stomach issues were the worst for me, but they eventually went away. I've also had to deal with some mood swings and depression, which was really challenging. My doctor adjusted my dosage, and that seems to have helped. It's important to stay in close contact with your healthcare provider and monitor your health regularly.
I just started Truvada as PrEP a few weeks ago, and I'm already experiencing some side effects. Mostly just headaches and fatigue, but I'm hoping they go away soon. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
