Unithroid 0.088mg (88mcg) tablets for Hypothyroidism: What to expect and possible side effects?
Hello everyone, I recently started taking Unithroid 0.088mg (88mcg) tablets for my hypothyroid condition. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had the same experience. I've been taking this medicine for a couple of weeks but am still unsure what common responses or side effects should be expected. I found the potential side effect list a bit daunting, especially the urgent ones. Was anyone else intimidated by the list? Anyone experiencing changes in appetite or weight? This medicine is supposed to help my body's metabolism work properly, but I feel like it's not working yet. Am I being impatient? I'm unsure what to expect in terms of timeline. What were your initial experiences like? Any tips for managing potential side effects? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

I was really worried about hair loss because that's a common side effect of levothyroxine for me. You might want to ask your doctor for a multivitamin with iron to help with that.
I've been on Unithroid for a while now, and I've noticed that I feel more energetic and my weight seems to be stabilizing. It's great!
I've been taking Unithroid for about 6 months now, and I've lost some weight and feel so much better. I did experience some muscle weakness and cramps at first but that stopped after a few days. Give it time and talk to your doctor regularly.
I had a rough time with the mood changes. I felt irritable and anxious for the first couple of weeks. But then it got better. I think it was because I was not taking it on an empty stomach. Try taking it 30 minutes before breakfast.
I feel you on the side effects list. I was freaking out about the sudden weight gain, but my doc assured me it's rare. Stick with it and monitor things closely. You'll likely see improvements in a few weeks. The mood changes were rough for me, but they settled down after a bit. Don't forget to drink lots of water!. Plus, my doctor said it's okay to have a bit of a headache the first few weeks, so I'm taking it easy.
I did not experience any of the serious side effects listed, but I did have some initial mood swings. It was a bit rough at first, but I'm feeling much better now. One thing my doctor mentioned is that my dosage might get adjusted several times in the first few months as we find the right amount for my body. This is normal and nothing to worry about. It’s important to be patient and communicate regularly with your doctor.
I didn't experience any side effects, but my doctor warned me about sudden weight gain. I felt so relieved when she told me it's rare and temporary.
I have been taking Unithroid for 2 years now. I don't have any side effects anymore. But, I am trying to figure out if I can drink alcohol. It's hard to find resources about it. Any thoughts?
I've noticed some digestive issues, mainly stomach cramps and diarrhea. Has anyone else dealt with this? Does it get better over time?
