I was prescribed Lidocaine 1% Inj, 5ml for arrhythmias. While the medication has helped with my heart irregularities, I've heard about some serious side effects. Has anyone else experienced or witnessed any of these severe side effects? And if so, how were they managed? I've read the list of possible side effects, but I want to know more about people's real-life experiences. Is it possible to take this medication without experiencing any severe or life-threatening complications?

I've used Lidocaine for local anesthesia during dental procedures and never had a problem. I guess it's different when it's injected into the vein. I had a friend who had methemoglobinemia and it was scary. Be careful!

I think the biggest issue with Lidocaine is that people don't know the signs to look for. If you're feeling unusual symptoms after getting this injection, it's probably your body telling you something is wrong. Go to the ER immediately! Don't mess around.

I had a bad reaction to Lidocaine. Ended up with hives and a bad rash. Luckily, the doctor caught it early and switched my medication. Be cautious with that stuff.

What are the symptoms of methemoglobinemia again? I've heard of it but never really looked it up. Just want to be prepared if something comes up.

Have any of you experienced the feeling of being too cold or too hot when you're not really? How long did it last? I've heard this is a side effect of Lidocaine and it sounds awful.

I actually got lidocaine for a Tattoo, and I was a little worried about the side effects. But the tattoo artist assured me that the dose was small and was a local dose, so it would be fine. And it was.
