I was prescribed Erythrocin 250mg Tablets for a respiratory infection and I'm really concerned about the potential side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication and experienced any of the severe side effects listed? I'm particularly worried about the risk of liver problems and allergic reactions. How soon should I be worried? Should I stop taking it immediately if I experience any discomfort? The list of potential side effects seems daunting, especially the long QT syndrome and Stevens-Johnson syndrome. anyone have any personal experience to share?

Also, who knows if there are any long-term effects from taking Erythromycin? I’m worried about the potential damage to my liver or kidneys. Has anyone else experienced hearing loss or other long-term issues? And how do we weigh the benefits of taking this antibiotic against the potential risks?

Finally, should I be concerned about the risk of C. diff-associated diarrhea (CDAD)? I've heard that antibiotics can really mess with your gut flora. Any tips on how to mitigate the risk of this side effect?

I think it's crucial to talk to your doctor about any concerns you have before starting this medication. They can provide guidance and monitor your symptoms closely. I had to take Erythrocin for a STI and my doctor kept a close eye on me the whole time. It took a while but eventually I got rid of it.

I've heard that taking probiotics can help mitigate the risk of C. diff-associated diarrhea, try loading up on yogurt and other probiotic foods if you're worried.

I've had really bad experiences with antibiotics in the past, and I'm always nervous about the potential side effects. For Erythrocin, I think it's important to keep a close eye on any signs of an allergic reaction or liver issues. If you start feeling really sick or have trouble breathing, go to the ER right away. It’s not worth risking your life over a minor infection.

I had a friend who took Erythrocin and ended up with a bad case of C. diff. It was scary stuff. Make sure to finish the entire course of antibiotics even if you feel better, but also watch out for any diarrhea that seems out of the ordinary. If you get really sick, do not hesitate to go to the hospital before it gets life-threatening.

I’ve never had a problem with Erythrocin and have taken it for a few different infections over the years. I've just been taking it for a few weeks now and haven't noticed any side effects yet. So far, so good! I hope it stays that way.

I took Erythrocin a few years ago for a skin infection and didn't experience any severe side effects, but I did have some stomach upset and diarrhea. It wasn't too bad, but it was uncomfortable. I just made sure to stay hydrated and it eventually passed.

I think the benefits of taking Erythrocin outweigh the risks for most people, especially if you have a serious bacterial infection. It's important to weigh the potential side effects against the benefits of treating the infection.

The risk of hearing loss is something I hadn't considered before, but it makes sense given that antibiotics can affect other parts of the body. If you have kidney issues, it's definitely something to be aware of. Always report any unusual symptoms to your doctor right away.
