I've been prescribed Vancomycin 25mg/ml Oral Solution to treat C. diff and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. It's an antimicrobial used to tackle C. diff. However, the potential side effects listed are quite concerning, especially the possibility of severe allergic reactions, hearing loss, and kidney problems. I've read multiple sources, but I'm still not sure what to expect. Can anyone share their experiences or advice on managing these side effects? How long did you take the solution until symptoms improved?

I dunno, everyone's experience seems so different. Just stay in touch with your doctor. If you feel something off, call them. They can’t answer questions if you don’t ask.

I work in a hospital pharmacy. Patients often ask about hearing loss. If you’re taking it for a prolonged period, definitely get your hearing checked regularly. Also, stay hydrated – it can help with some of the gastrointestinal side effects.

Be prepared for the taste, it’s awful. But if you need it, you need it. Just make sure to follow the dosage instructions carefully and monitor for any severe side effects.

I had a friend who took this and got a severe skin reaction. It was terrifying. If you see any weird skin stuff, get to a doctor ASAP.
