I've been on Ustekinumab for a few months now, and I've had a mix of good and not-so-great experiences. I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, and my doctor recommended this medication to help with the inflammation. It's given as an injection under the skin, which was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but it's become a routine now. The serious side effects mentioned in the description are scary, and I make sure to monitor for any signs of infection or allergic reaction. So far, I've mostly had some fatigue and headaches, which are manageable. I've heard from others that the injection site can get irritated, so I'll keep an eye out for that. Has anyone else had similar experiences with this drug? How has it worked for you?

I've heard some horror stories about the side effects, but I think it's important to remember that everyone's experience is different. So far, so good for me. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I’ve been on Ustekinumab for about six months, and it's been a rollercoaster. The first few weeks were rough—the fatigue was overwhelming, and I had some nasty flu-like symptoms. But after that, it’s been smooth sailing. My Crohn’s symptoms have significantly improved, and I haven't had any major flare-ups. Definitely worth the initial struggle.

Serious question: does anyone know if you can still get the vaccine while on this medication? I've heard mixed things and I'm not sure what to believe.

I've been on it for a year and a half, and I can tolerate it. It's a bit pricey, though. Does anyone know if there's a generic version available yet?

Anyone else have issues with the injection site? I had a really bad reaction the first time I injected it, but it's calmed down as I've kept using it. It's worth it, though, because the benefits have been incredible for my psoriasis. Definitely worth it!

I had to stop taking it because of some really bad headaches. I'm not sure if it was the medication or not, but I just couldn't deal with it. I hope you guys have better luck with it than I did.

I switched to Ustekinumab from another biologic because I just wasn't seeing the results I needed. My doctor walked me through the process and made sure I knew all the potential side effects. I've had some muscle aches, but nothing too bad. It's been great for my ulcerative colitis so far, and I'm hoping it continues to work well. Just remember everyone, always talk to your doctor if you have any concerns. They're there to help!

I can't believe they give this stuff as an IV infusion for the first dose. That sounds terrifying. I have a friend who had horrible side effects and had to stop taking it. I'm glad it's working for you guys, though.

Be careful with this stuff. My sister had a bad reaction, but she had some other autoimmune issues at the same time. I don't think the medicine was directly responsible for what she experienced. Just be cautious out there and always listen to your body.
