Valtoco, a nasal spray containing diazepam, has just been approved for treating seizure clusters. It's designed to be administered quickly by a caregiver when a seizure cluster starts. The spray contains diazepam, a medication already known for its effectiveness in stopping seizures. However, like any medication, it comes with its own set of side effects. I'm curious to hear from people who have used it—what has your experience been? Has it been effective in managing seizure clusters? And have you encountered any of the serious side effects listed? I'd like to know if it's truly a game changer or just another medication in the arsenal.

I recently had to call an ambulance after my daughter had a severe reaction to Valtoco. It was terrifying. She developed hives and had trouble breathing. Turns out she was allergic to the nasal spray, not the diazepam. It's scary to think how it could have ended. I'm not sure what to do now.

I've heard good things about this medication but haven't used it myself. I always worry about medications that have such serious side effects.

Glad to hear some success with Valtoco but wow the seizure discussons are intense. The nasal spray sounds convenient, but I'd be worried about allergic reactions like in the comment above. I'd definitely have an EpiPen on hand if I were using it....

My doctor recommended it, and I've been using it for a while now. It definitely helps with seizure clusters, and the side effects have been manageable so far. Just keep in mind that everyone's experience can be different

I'm a bit concerned about the side effects, especially the potential for suicidal thoughts. Has anyone else had issues like that?

I've been using Valtoco for a few months now, and it's been a lifesaver. The nasal spray is so easy to use during a seizure cluster, and it kicks in super fast. No more rushed trips to the ER!

It's crazy that there are so many side effects listed. I'd want to be absolutely certain that the benefits outweigh the risks before using it. Who here has managed it successfully?
