I recently had to use Vanalice 0.3-3.5% Gel to treat a lice infestation in my household, and I wanted to share my experience and some tips I picked up along the way. Vanalice is a topical treatment that contains Pyrethrins and Piperonyl Butoxide, which work together to kill lice by targeting their nervous system. The gel is applied to the hair, scalp, and other affected areas, and you leave it on for a specific amount of time before washing it out.

The process wasn't exactly fun, but the treatment seemed to work well. I followed the instructions carefully, making sure to cover all the necessary areas and leave the gel on for the recommended time. It's important to note that you might experience some irritation at the application site, but for me, it was minimal and gone after a day.

I also want to stress the importance of being aware of the potential side effects. While I didn't experience any serious issues, it's crucial to seek medical help if you notice signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling, hives, or difficulty breathing. If you're thinking about using Vanalice, make sure to read the instructions thoroughly and consult with a healthcare provider if you have any concerns.

Lastly, I've heard that some people recommend combing through the hair with a fine-tooth lice comb after treatment to remove any dead lice or nits. Has anyone else tried this, and did it make a difference?

I had a terrible reaction to this stuff. My scalp was on fire! I had to rinse it out immediately and call the doctor. Be careful, y'all!

I treated my entire family, including myself, twice just to be sure. It was a real pain, but it worked. I will say that the second application was a lot easier than the first.

I didn't experience any side effects, but I found that the gel was a bit difficult to wash out. I had to shampoo my hair three times to get it all out. But again, no side effects!

I can't believe how common lice are! My kid kept getting reinfected at school. We finally had to pull her out and homeschool for a bit until we got it under control.

This is great stuff! But if you're going to use it, make sure you sterilize all the brushes, combs, and hair accessories in the house. No point in treating your hair if you're just going to reinfest it from your comb! Also, wash all bedding and towels, etc. in really hot water. I washed mine twice just to be safe. You gotta be thorough.

I've always found that the combination of Pyrethrins and Piperonyl Butoxide to be quite effective. The key is to make sure the affected area is fully saturated with the gel. I usually part the hair into sections and apply it that way. It's a bit tedious, but worth it in the end.

I tried this on my daughter and it didn't work at all? Anybody else have this issue? Maybe I did something wrong.

Did anyone else notice that the instructions were a bit vague on how long to leave it on? I left it on for the maximum recommended time, just to be safe.

I used this on my kid and it worked like a charm! Just make sure to follow the instructions to the letter.

I've heard that lice are becoming resistant to pyrethrins. What do you think about switching to a different treatment, like a shampoo or cream rinse?
