Oh, wow. There are some scary side effects on that list. I'm glad I haven't needed it yet.
I'm worried about the potential for side effects, but I'm also really glad that there's a medication out there that can treat MRSA. It's tough, but worth it.
What about the long-term effects? I'm worried about what might happen after the infection is gone.
I've read that some people experience flushing and a rash during the infusion. If that happens, the nurse can usually slow down the rate, and it should go away. But if it doesn't, or if you start feeling short of breath, definitely speak up. My friend had that happen, and they had to stop the infusion for a while. It was scary, but they were fine in the end.
I've heard that diarrhea can be a common side effect. It might not be as severe as some of the other symptoms, but it can still be really uncomfortable and inconvenient. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and eat a balanced diet to stay healthy. And get some pepto bismol before and after.
