Hello everyone, I recently started taking Varenicline 0.5mg tablets to help me quit smoking. I've heard mixed reviews about this medication, so I wanted to share my experience and gather some insights from others. The medication has definitely helped reduce my cravings for nicotine, but I've also experienced some side effects that I wasn't expecting. My biggest concern is that I'm not sure if the side effects are normal or if I should be worried. I've read about serious side effects like seizures and hallucinations, which is scary. I've had some trouble sleeping and strange dreams, but nothing too alarming. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'd love to hear your stories and any tips you might have for managing the side effects.

I didn't get any of those bad side effects but I did have a lot of trouble sleeping, and I had the worst nightmares ever. It was weird but I was able to handle it, I think worse would be the insomnia, but I think it’s worth it.

I think the key is to communicate with your doctor. If you start feeling off, don't wait—call them right away.

I read that eating a lot of fiber and staying hydrated can help with some of the side effects. I've been taking Varenicline for a few months and it's been a lot easier on my body — no serious reactions or anything, but be smart and take care of yourself.

Wait, so what did you end up doing? I'm considering this but the side effects are pretty scary.

I've been reading about the potential for worsening mental health and mood disorders. I have a history of depression, so I'm a bit worried. Has anyone else struggled with this on Varenicline?

I've been on Varenicline for a month now and it's been a game-changer. My cravings are almost non-existent, but I did have some weird dreams at the start. Stick with it if you can, it's worth it.

You might even try just a lower dose and see how it goes. I did and it worked out for me.

I had some mild side effects but nothing too bad. It was definitely worth it to finally kick the habit.

Be careful, man. I had a friend who started having hallucinations and ended up in the hospital. It's rare, but it happens. Make sure to talk to your doctor regularly.

I remember when I took Varenicline the worst part was the weird dreams. It was like my brain was on overdrive at night. But honestly, it helped me quit smoking cold turkey, so I'd say it's worth the trade-off.
