I've been taking Verapamil 120mg Tablets for the past six months to manage high blood pressure and angina. The medication has been effective in reducing my blood pressure and alleviating chest pain by relaxing my blood vessels and slowing my heart rate. However, I've experienced some side effects, particularly dizziness and constipation, which have been challenging to manage. Has anyone else experienced similar side effects, and if so, what strategies have you found helpful in coping with them? I'm curious to hear about others' experiences and any tips for mitigating these issues. Also, I'd appreciate knowing if anyone has had any other side effects not listed on the label or had to switch to a different medication. I'm also wondering about the long-term effects of taking this medication. Are there any significant risks or benefits that come with prolonged use?

My dad is on Verapamil to control his heart rate. He's had some minor issues with dizziness, but overall, it's been a game-changer for him. He's been able to cut down on some of his other medications. I think that shows it's doing its job. I've suggested he look into drinking prune juice to help with his constipation. I learned that from my mom who used to take this after giving birth. Maybe that's a weird comparison but it works.

I wish they had more information about long-term effects. I'm concerned about taking it for years. What happens if I need to stop taking it suddenly?

I had a weird experience with my first dose. I felt a bit faint and dizzy, but my doctor said it could just be my body adjusting to it. Total bummer. I've since adjusted to it and the dizziness has mostly gone away. The key is to not move around too much when you first start taking it. It wears off after a few hours but be careful.

I've been taking Verapamil for a while and have noticed that my heartbeat sometimes feels a bit irregular. Is this common? Should I be worried, or is it just a normal side effect?

A friend of mine had a severe allergic reaction to Verapamil. She developed hives and had trouble breathing. It was terrifying. She ended up in the ER and had to switch to a different medication. It's scary to think that something meant to help can have such drastic side effects.

It's concerning to hear about the potential liver problems. I've had some stomach issues, but I thought it was just part of getting older. I'll definitely be more aware of any signs of liver problems too. Thanks for the heads up!
