I was recently in the ER for a very fast heart rate, and the doctor injected me with Verapamil 2.5mg/ml. It worked quickly to slow my heart rate, but I'm curious about the side effects and how common they are. I've read about potential liver problems and allergic reactions, which are scary. Has anyone else experienced this medication? I want to be prepared if I need it again.

I work in a cardiac unit, and we use Verapamil frequently. Most patients tolerate it well, but we always monitor for side effects. If you have any concerns, talk to your doctor.

Verapamil is great for acute situations, but it's not something you want to take long-term without medical supervision. Make sure to follow up with your cardiologist.

I had Verapamil a few times, and it worked well, but make sure you’re in a place where you can be closely monitored.

Verapamil can cause a slow heartbeat, so be aware of that. If you feel really dizzy or faint, let your doctor know right away.

I had a bad experience with Verapamil. It caused constipation that lasted for days. Not fun.
