I've been prescribed Verapamil ER 300mg Capsules for my high blood pressure and have been taking them for about a month now. From what I've read, the side effects can be quite severe, and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced any of these. It seems there's a range from mild issues like dizziness and constipation to really concerning ones like shortness of breath, severe dizziness, or signs of liver problems. It's a bit scary to think about! Has anyone faced these and how did you deal with them? I'd love to hear some stories and advice from people who have been through this.

I've been on this medication for a while and I found that taking it with food really helped with the constipation. Also, staying hydrated was a game-changer.

This is a great conversation. It's concerning how harsh the potential side effects are for Verapamil, but also important to recognize that for many people, it works really well.

I was on Verapamil for a while and experienced some dizziness, but nothing too severe. I ended up switching to another medication because the constipation was atrocious in comparison, and the doctor was worried about severe liver problems down the line. I would keep a close eye on things and let your doctor know if anything gets worse.

I'm glad I found this thread. I started feeling dizzy and I wasn’t sure if it was the Verapamil or not. I’ll definitely be talking to my doctor about adjusting the dose or switching medications.

Dropping the dose to 240mg really helped my symptoms.

I think it's important to remember that everyone's body reacts differently to medications. If you're concerned about the side effects, talk to your doctor. They might be able to adjust the dosage or switch you to something else.

I switched from the ER capsules to the immediate-release ones because the ER didn't work well with my diet. The immediate-release ones are better for me. What do you all think about the ER vs immediate-release?
